The British Council upgrades for security, circulation, teaching provision, and office support. The challenge was to integrate the architecture and design of an educational organisation into the residential set up of two villas.
The solution included connecting architecture for a new security guard house structure at the entrance of the building, a inking structure, light wells, and landscape between the villas. A local cultural and coastal ambience was reinstated including mashrabiya screens inspired by the brand, planting and interior materials were carefully reused and enlivened including hardwearing floor and timber, and integration of new branding, colour, graphics and technology to the classrooms. The results are clean, fresh and modern.
